About Grace Library

Our Mission

Grace Library exists at the center of intellectual inquiry at Carlow University, providing information services, resources, and instruction. Through this learning environment, we support student learning, research, scholarship, information literacy, and the development of creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The library supports the curriculum and programs of study by responding to faculty and student needs for information and resources.

As part of the Center for Teaching, Research, and Learning, Grace Library provides resources and services needed to ensure the academic success of students and the professional development of our faculty and staff. We are committed to providing student-centered, dynamic learning environments that respond to changing user needs while supporting the University's commitment to provide transformational educational opportunities.

Center for Teaching, Research, & Learning

The Center for Teaching, Research, and Learning (CTRL) at Carlow University fosters dialogue, scholarship, innovation, and excellence in learner-centered teaching, creating new environments where every student can thrive.

The CTRL is a community that supports and promotes inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices. We facilitate the development of vibrant, challenging, and reflective learner-centered experiences by

  • Creating a culture of commitment to learner-centered practices, reflection about teaching, and continuous improvment.
  • Coordinating activities to support excellence in teaching.
  • Providing support for course planning and instructional design, pedagogical development, and educational technology.
  • Communicating the importance of teaching and learning, and promote policies to support and reward high-quality teaching.
  • Supporting the scholarship of teaching and learning.
