Archives

At this time, access to the Carlow University Archives is restricted. Inquiries about the archives can be directed to Grace Library at gracelibrary@carlow.edu.

To form a complete record of life at Carlow University and to properly preserve the historical narrative of our community, the University Archives welcomes donations of records, photographs, realia/ephemera, and other materials that document the University's history. The Archives will accept donations from faculty and staff, students, academic programs, leadership and administration, and alumni. Anyone wishing to donate to the collections should contact the University Archivist for a consultation. 

The Archives accepts the following items:

• Photographs and other audio-visual materials
• University and community publications such as yearbooks, course catalogs, newspapers and newsletters, alumni magazines, handbooks, pamphlets, and posters
• Records of student organizations
• Scrapbooks
• Faculty and student publications
• Campus maps and blueprints
• Realia such as caps, gowns, pins, class rings, pennants, etc.
• Artworks related to the Carlow Art collection, at the discretion of the University Archivist or the Director of the University Art Gallery

A Deed of Gift will be completed for all accepted donations. These documents are necessary to record the provenance and origination of the material, and include additional details such as terms of use, copyright, restrictions, and other pertinent information.

The Archives will not accept:

• Duplicate materials, at the discretion of the University Archivist
• Routine letters and communications
• Records of financial transactions
