Your Library Account

Grace Library's online Discovery catalog offers a lot of options if you utilize  the "My Account" feature. By signing in using your Carlow credentials, you can manage your loaned items, track ILL requests for physical items, and create and save lists of materials for specific search queries.

You can log into your account by going straight to the online catalog and log in using the prompt in the upper right-hand corner.

Account Functions

To access all of the functions available through your Discovery Account, log in by clicking the prompt in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Carlow Credentials

You will log in using your Carlow credentials. If you are already logged in another screen, you might be automatically logged in and not have to enter in your email address and password.

Account Menu

You will know if you are logged in if you can see your name in the upper right-hand side of the screen. Under your name, you will see a drop-down menu arrow that says "My account." Here you will see several different options, which are separated into two major groups:

  • Items: An option to view items you currently have checked out and their due dates, an option to view current requests for physical items, and an option to view any fees you might have for overdue materials.
  • Searches: An option to view your recent search activity, an option to view saved search queries, an option to view any items you have saved, and an option to view any saved lists you have created.

Checkouts

To view items you currently have checked out, click on the option for "Checkouts." Here, you will see a list of any items you currently have out and the dates they are due.

From this interface, you can also easily navigate to other parts of the menu, including "Search activity."

Search Activity

By clicking over to "Search activity," you will be able to view and easily navigate back to recent searches you have done using the Discovery online catalog.

Please note that you must be logged in in order for these searches to save to your search activity history.

Saved Searches

From the same menu, you can also view any search queries that you have specifically saved. This is an especially good feature if you are doing ongoing research and want to see if any new articles or other resources are available to you.

Saved Lists

Lastly, from the drop-down menu, you will also be able to navigate to lists of resources that you have created. These lists are a good way to keep track of articles you have already looked at. You can also use them to save resources during a long-term research project.
