This interface is available for all video collections (for example: BBC Horizon Collection or PBS 3/e) and individual videos (any purchased single titles, or videos available in multi-format collections such as Social Work Online) available from Alexander Street.
Why a new interface? Students and faculty consume video content differently from text, journal, or dissertation type content. Users want and expect a consumer-based experience (like Netflix or Amazon Video) that allows for easy searching and many relevant recommendations along the way to make finding what they need easy.
Video Only Focus--making searching fast and accurate. Instead of searching through millions of pages of text and other documents, our new video only interface only contains video allowing for a fast and accurate searching experience.
New Cinematic Visual Experience--When you are looking for a video, you want to sit back, relax and watch it. Our new viewing experience takes away the noise of unnecessary onscreen distractions and gets you to our player quickly to watch and enjoy or do your research. Here you can take advantage of clip-making tools, on-screen transcripts, searchable and scrolling transcripts, and LTI embeds – just to note a few of our academic tools
Innovating Searching and Recommendation: Users may not always know what they want. The intuitive interface helps quickly identify content well-suited to the area of study or research. No video is ever served up in your searching alone. Whether with other similar videos or related curated channels, when you search you find what you need quickly and easily.
