How often should I check in with my advisor?

Your faculty advisor is here to help you succeed during your time at Carlow  and beyond. You might meet with your advisor to talk through academic concerns or barriers, map out your degree path, get connected to campus support, or plan for your future career.

Plan to meet or check in with your advisor at least once per semester, prior to the start of registration.

Students who have received mid-term reports, are on warning, academic appeal, or are experiencing any other academic issues should meet with their advisors regularly.

Undergraduate students with fewer than 24 INSTITUTIONAL credits will need to be registered by their advisors, regardless of their class level. This includes undergraduate first year and transfer students who have not yet earned 24 credits at Carlow.

If you are having trouble with locating or getting ahold of your advisor, consult with your Department Chair or Program Director. You can find their contact information in the Carlow directory.
